Focus T25 Review - Day 22

CURRENT WEIGHT: 65.4 kg (-2.1 kg)

WAIST LINE: 32.5 inches (-3.5 inches)

This is day 22 of the Focus T25 workout. I wasn't able to go below 65kg. I usually do my exercise in the morning between 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. But for my Monday workout I was only able to do it in the afternoon at my hotel room while I was in Ho Chi Minh and for the Tuesday round I wasnt able to do any as I flew back to Singapore 8:00 AM and went directly to work. After work is finished I was so tired that I just slept when I got home. For Focus T25, on Fridays you have to do two workouts but I was only able to do one because I have to go work early and was able to just do one and in the evening I had a nice Mexican dinner.  So to sum it up, I have been a bad boy this week.

Fitness is pretty much like the a savings account. It is dependent on how much you put it (effort and time), how much you take out (naughty things you do like not exercising or eating junk), and inflation (genetics).

Here are this week's shameless before and after pics:

The weighing scale says i gained 0.3kg but it looks like I am less bloated which is still a good thing I guess. Another week another challenge!

Jongens (Boys) - #jacemoviereview

Rating:
6.5/10

Likes:
  •      Very simple movie. Doesn't have an over the top plot or acting.
  •      Hot Dutch boys (Jongens)
  •      Gijs Blom, played the main character very well with all that restraint and subtlety.
Dislikes:
  •       Almost boring.
I think the society has placed loved so much high in the pedestal but for me it is over-rated. Love can be most of the time one way, meaning we can love someone without an equal return. I would like to think we have been brainwashed to think that love is the ultimate thing one can have but recently I've realised this is not completely true. Actually it is the connection we build with others that makes ones lifetime a bit more bearable. With connections, it takes at least two to create that link, that understanding, that bond. It is a mutual phenomenon that happens between human beings that lasts a lifetime. It is that invisible contract that at least two people take to be part of each other's lives without insecurity or fear because it is either there or none at all. Love fades but connection doesn't.

Focus T25 Review - Day 13

CURRENT WEIGHT: 65.1 kg (-2.4 kg)

WAIST LINE: 33 inches (-3 inches)

This is the second rest day or the 13th day of the work out. For this week i only lost 0.7kg. But from day 1 I already lost a total of 2.4 kg. I think not that bad to think I had a big Fat Boys burger last night.

I wouldn't say it is easier this week. But I feel I am pushed myself more, where i have lesser breaks and trying to just do one exercise after the other. If I feel tired, i shift to the modified version to try to just push through and not stop.

After two weeks I can say i love the Speed 1.0 routine. It is just fun and intense at the same time lesser jumping and more aerobic movements.

Here are the shamless progress pic after 13 days:

Not much of progress after two weeks but i think i feel lighter and stronger. I am not sure if there will be much progress after week 3 as after i post this I will be on a holiday in Ho Chi Minh where there will be alot of booze and food.

Rock of Ages the Musical Singapore - #jaceevents

I just want to say this musical is effing awesome!!!! I am not a fan of musicals in general and this is the first time a saw one live and it blew my mind.

Everyone in Singapore should do to http://www.sistic.com.sg/events/rock0814 and get their tickets! The show will run up until 24 of August.

Synopsis
The worldwide party musical ROCK OF AGES features a mix of 28 rockin' 80's tunes including DON'T STOP BELIEVIN', WE BUILT THIS CITY, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE, HERE I GO AGAIN, CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA's most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80's.

It's five time 2009 Tony® nominee ROCK OF AGES, a love story told through the mind blowing, face-melting hits of JOURNEY, NIGHT RANGER, STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, PAT BENATAR, TWISTED SISTER, POISON, ASIA, WHITESNAKE and many more. Don't miss this awesomely good time about dreaming big, playing loud and partying on!

Likes:

  •      Acting is brilliant!! The main actors really got into the characters without overacting. You can feel that they are in their respective characters feeling their joys and struggles.
  •      I felt pure vocal talent for most of the cast specially Dominique Scott as Drew, Joshua Hobbs as Stacee Jaxx, and Kadejah Onè as Justice.
  •      It is highly entertaining! They did unfamiliar and very familiar songs like 'More Than Words', Don't Stop Believing' and 'I Want To Know What Love Is'.
  •      My God the ripped bodies of the cast!!

Dislikes:
     - One very minor thing that is not good is there are some mic that are not very clear. But o watched the opening night so they will of course do something about it

  •        Nostalgic soundtrack that makes you want to dance from time to time while watching the movie.
  •        Fighting and action scenes are flawless.

Dislikes:
  •        Not really a very bad thing, but I was expecting for them to show a preview of the next Marvel movie after the credits but they just showed a not so funny clip.

Focus T25 Review - Day 6

CURRENT WEIGHT: 65.8 kg (-1.7 kg)

WAIST LINE: 34 inches (-2 inches)

Today is my day 6 for the 70-day Focus T25 which is the best day because it is the rest day!! The the first 5 weeks is called the alpha phase and the next 5 weeks  is called the beta phase.

So every seven days there would be 5 days of work out, 1 day of rest and then 1 day stretch.
Each workout is 25-minutes long with 3 minutes of cool down at the end.

This is how the schedule looks like.

The whole alpha phase is made up of only 5 workouts:
  • Cardio
  • Speed 1.0
  • Total Body Circuit
  • Abs Interval
  • Lower Focus
In the first week, I was able to experience all the workouts. Each workout is effing intense! You will feel that it is the longest 25 minutes of your life. Within that 25 minutes there are no water breaks or rests. But the good thing is that there is a modified version which is of lowe impact.

Just like my first few days of doing Insanity before, I wasn't really able to keep up with the exercises. I have to catch my breath and take a break because my muscles are so tired and tense. Also on the fifth day, I am supposed to do two workouts but I am too tired to do the second one.

So this is my routine for the past 5 days. I wake up around 6-630 am. Take my morning supplements then wait for 15 minutes before having a light breakfast. The light breakfast is usually two slices of bread. I wait for another 40 minutes to sort of "digest" the food then I start the 25 minutes of craziness. Then after that I wait for 15 minutes to let the sweating to subside then prepare for work.

But after weighing today and doing some waistline measurement, it feels awesome that I lost almost 2 kg and 2 inches off my waist. This is quite good to think that this week I have been bad, I had two super heavy dinners which made me worried that I wont do any improvements in terms of weight and waistline.

I am excited for Monday cos I want to see how I progress in terms of going through the exercise. So the goal is to try not to stop and nailing the 25 minutes. Of course with the help of doing some modified routine.

I will not be posting any before and after pics yet. I hope after the second week I won't feel too embarrassed.

Begin Again - #jacemoviereview

Begin Again (2013) Poster

Rating:
8/10

Likes:
  •        Kiera Knightley and Mark Rufallo played their parts effortlessly. It is as if they are acting without acting. I felt the pain without over acting the pain.
  •        The movie is very relatable. No over the top conflicts. The characters are face with struggles most of us experience on a daily basis.
  •        The songs are awesome. They will pinch your heart abit. Specially the song Lost Stars.
  •        Kiera's styling, classy casual.

Dislikes:
  •        Some cheesy parts.

Takeaways:
  •        There is an infinite chance to begin again but we sometimes we have shortage of hope and determination to challenge ourselves to take that chance.
  •        Letting go is not fully taking away that someone or something we want to move on from, rather it is keeping a piece of it like a badge, cos no matter how we deny it, that someone of something leaves an imprint that will forever be there.
  •         The world will continue to spin whether we decide to move on or not.

Focus T25 Review - Day 0

67 days have passed and I am still feeling lazy, demotivated and uninspired. But today even though I'm still feeling lazy, what the heck, I will try to start to work out and work on my body.

CURRENT WEIGHT: 67.5 kg

WAIST LINE: 36 inches

OMG, I am such a pig!! But today I will be starting this Focus T25 workout by Shaun T.

The most attractive thing about it is that it just needs 25 minutes out of the 1,000 minutes of my waking hours (2.5%).

Anyways, before I start getting lazy again, I will start this Focus T25.

Wish me luck!
